Preparations well under way

We know it’s been a long time since the last post on this website, so here’s a brief update on how things stand…

We’re now taking bookings for trade and charity stalls on the meadow at the carnival. We hope to have an application form here on the website shortly, but in the meantime if you leave us a message on our Facebook page then someone will get back to you promptly.

The Vale First Food Festival will also be taking place at the same time as the carnival, so as well as lots of fun and entertainment there will also be lots of lovely food and drink!

Talking of drink, it’s now been confirmed that the Fleece Inn – sorry, the award-winning Fleece Inn – will again be providing the beer tent. So you can be sure of top quality ale and cider to refresh your thirst throughout the day.

It isn’t too late to enter a float into the carnival parade, although most of the HGVs that we are providing have already been allocated so if you want one then you need to get in touch quickly. But there will always be space for any group who wants to provide their own transport, or enter a walking float. We’d particularly like to encourage more of the smaller floats – the car and trailer type – this year as they’re a great way for smaller organisations, or groups of family and friends, to participate without the need to decorate a whole HGV.

We’e taken on board all the comments from last year’s event, and done our best to make improvements based on the feedback. One thing we know a lot of you will appreciate is that there will be additional toilets on the meadow on carnival day! The funfair will be bigger, with more of an emphasis on rides aimed at children and teenagers.

We’re still putting together the programme of entertainment for the day at the moment, so we can’t tell you just yet who’s going to be appearing. But we are certain that you’ll love it! Watch this space for more news soon.

Finally… the Evesham Carnival is entirely a volunteer-run event, supported by the Vale of Evesham Round Table and other local organisations. We’re grateful that Karndean will again be our main sponsor, but we still have plenty of opportunities for other local businesses to provide sponsorship. There will also be advertising opportunities in the carnival programme. If you want to be involved in making this year’s carnival an event to remember, then please get in touch via email to community@eveshamcarnival.uk.
