Music and Fashion from the 1940s to the present day
The 2017 carnival will be held on Saturday 24th June. Our theme this year is “Driving Through the Decades: Music and Fashion from the 1940s to the present day”, so come on down to Crown Meadow to enjoy an afternoon of music and entertainment with a retro theme!
The main venue will be Crown Meadow on the banks of the River Avon in Evesham.
- Live entertainment compered by James Locke
- Beer and cider tent from Moongazing Hare
- Vintage tea room
- Charity stands
- Trade stands
- Face painting
- Fun and games
- Raft Race on the river
- Drawing competition for children aged 5 to 15
- Free parking on Corporation Meadow
Also featuring our local celebrity Gus, as seen on BBC Midlands Today, CBC News and Have I Got News For You!
BBC Hereford and Worcester will be broadcasting live from the meadow during the afternoon.
The meadow will also be the start and finish point of the carnival parade, and the assembly point and judging arena for the parade floats.
The route of the carnival parade will take us across both of Evesham’s iconic bridges, along the east bank of the River Avon and through the historic town centre, so there will be plenty of good vantage points to watch and cheer on the participants.
